November 18, 2009
The Maritime Provinces Travelogue
Wednesday, November 18th
1:30 at Cornell Estates Retirement & Assisted Living
Originally from New Jersey, speaker, Ed Krover’s slide show presentation will include the beautiful coastlines, sunsets, fisheries, museums, and steam powered mills of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
Krover will speak on The Hopewell Rocks as one of New Brunswick’s top attractions located along the coast of the Bay of Fundy, which is home to the world’s highest tides and diverse eco-systems.
He will include several sights in Nova Scotia, home to the fascinating Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Park, the crown jewel of the Canadian Park Service. It was built to protect France’s interests in the new world and to serve as the centre of its massive seasonal fishing industry. Not to be out done is Canada’s first designated Historic Rural District, Grand Pre’. Kover’s travelogue also includes the rocky shores, lighthouse and village at Peggy’s Cove which are a photographer’s paradise.
Krover has been shooting photographs for 42 years. His talent in photography stems from spending most of his time teaching graphic arts in the Beaverton School District.
The Educational Travelogue is free and open to the public. The series runs each month and covers the travels of residents, staff and community members. Cornell Estates is located at 1005 NE 17th Avenue, Hillsboro. For more information call 503-640-2884. www.cornell-estates.com.
