West Point, My First Year

Cornell Estates is honored to have Hillsboro Resident, Richard Austring. He will be sharing his experiences as a first year Cadet in the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Richard is the son of Bryan & Carin Austring; his father is the pastor of Helvetia Community Church. He became interested in West Point after his father served 8 years as a Navy Chaplain. Richard began applying to service academices at the end of his junior year in high school and was accepted to West Point in the class of 2013.
He recently completed his first year as a cadet. Richard will talking about what life is like at West Point and his experiences during his blebe year. Richard is a home school graduate, an Eagle Scout, an avid photographer, and is active in his church, in Oregon and at the Cadet Chapel at West Point.
